MORNING TIME

When you go into your baby’s room, say, “Good morning! Who can smile? [Baby’s name] can smile! Who can snuggle? [Baby’s name] can snuggle! Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!”

 DRIVE TIME

As you drive, ask your child about things they can do. Ex: "Who can run? [Child's name] can run! Who can pick up toys? [Child's name] can pick up toys!" End saying, "Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!"

 CUDDLE TIME

Cuddle with your child this month and pray, "Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to show us that with You, all things are possible. Help us to remember that Jesus really can do anything. We love You, God. In Jesus' name, amen."

 BATH TIME

Show your child how to walk his/her fingers on top of the water. Have fun with it and jump from toy to toy or washcloth to soap bubbles. Talk about how we can't really walk on water, but Jesus can! Jesus can do anything!

I love the idea of setting new family goals, but I live with me. I’m all for committing a lengthy list of goals and objectives to paper, but then my actions don’t follow. Before January is finished I don’t even remember what I wrote.

Anybody with me?  Here’s what I’ve learned: More doesn’t always mean better.

I’m tired of long lists with no follow-through (and the shame that comes with it) so here’s where I am. I’m asking myself this question: What’s the one best thing I can do to help my family better connect this year? . . .
