A big shout out to ALL of our supporters
and volunteers who make
Night to Shine dreams come true!
I am a parent/family member and want to remain in the building during the event while my guest enjoys the event. Is the respite area available to me?
We recognize, value, and love our guest parents and family members! For this reason, part of our campus is dedicated to you during the event. Our respite area will provide family with a comfortable place to enjoy the evening. Complimentary dinner, coffee, and dessert will be served, along with some special surprises being offered. We will keep you connected throughout the event via our family liaison team.
Space is limited to no more than 2 family members and must be registered here; we are unable to accommodate walk-ins. There is no dress code for the respite area.
Note: If a parent or other family member would prefer to stay and interact with your guest for the evening, register yourself as a buddy. You will find information & registration for buddies in the selection below. Also, our expectation is that paid caregivers will accompany guests and not register for the respite area here; refer to the info & registration for paid caregivers from our home page.
I am a parent/family member and would like to check on my guest. Is this possible?
We understand that you may want to periodically check on your guest, however, for the safety of all of our guests, parents and family will only be allowed inside the event under very specific circumstances with a Night to Shine staff escort (ie: if their guest requires assistance in the restroom). Upon check-in you and your guest will meet the buddy who will remain with your guest throughout the event. This will give you an opportunity to review emergency contact information and discuss any concerns with your guest’s assigned buddy. As noted above, if you are staying to enjoy the family respite area, a family liaison team will be available for you.
I am a parent, family member, or friend who would like to stay with my guest as their escort throughout the event. What do I need to do?
For the safety of all of our honored guests, it is required that all parents, family members, friends, and paid caregivers who will remain with a guest inside the event, must sign up as a volunteer buddy. Be sure to list your guest’s name where required on your registration. Waivers, background checks, sexual abuse awareness training (for buddies over 18) and parental permission (for buddies under 18) are mandatory, as well as attendance at an event training/orientation either in person or via Zoom.
Registration Opens: November 1, 2024
